available worldwide, Carbon Zinc offers some of the advantages
of the alkaline chemistry, including low cost, wide size availability,
and good storage life.
However,
Carbon Zinc does not perform especially well in either hot or
cold temperature extremes, and has a steep discharge profile
at high rates. It is almost exclusively suited for intermittent
low drain applications.
Carbon
Zinc is an excellent choice as an option to alkaline where use
of the battery will be in nominal environments, and low cost
is an important factor.
