Shelf Life

Duracell Alkaline cells have a long storage shelf life. If stored at room temperature, after one year the cells will still provide 93 to 96 percent of their shipped capacity. If stored at 70° for four years, 85% is still possible for these alkalines. Since alkaline cells have good capacity retention refrigeration is not necessary. The recommended storage conditions are between 10°C (50°F) and 25°C (77°F) with relative humidity not greater than 65 percent.

Transportation

Duracell Alkaline Coppertop series batteries are not regulated or listed as dangerous goods under the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, ICAO Technical Instructions, IMDG Code, UN Model Regulations, U.S. Hazardous Materials Regulations (49 CFR), and UNECE ADR. There is no UN Identification number. Please see the MN1604 Material Safety Data Sheet / Article Information Sheet for more information.

Disposal

The U.S. EPA does not regulate the disposal of Duracell Coppertop alkaline batteries. Duracell recommends that batteries for household use can be disposed of with other household waste. For commercial quantities the recommendation is that these cells be disposed of as "non-hazardous" waste at a hazardous waste landfill. Local regulations may supersede these recommendations.

Warnings

These are not rechargeable batteries. Charging may cause explosion or leakage which may result in bodily injury.
